"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" Movie Review: A Relatable, Timely Movie

People say that a new year brings new challenges and new opportunities in life. If you are planning to have a career move, or bring a new leaf or lift a new chapter to your life's pages, then you have to watch first 20th Century Fox's opening salvo movie for 2014. "The Secret Life of Water Mitty" is THE inspirational movie to watch for this January.

Walter Mitty (played by Ben Stiller) has a very ordinary life. He has gone to no places at all, basically, he has a boring life. And may I add to that, Walter Mitty has no love life and a frequently zoned-out guy. He always zoned-out or temporarily goes out of reality and daydreams. He daydreams of saving a dog in a building that is about to explode, an adventure to a mountain with the girl of his dreams, among others.

When his company, Life Magazine, is on the verge of losing people due to digital transition of print magazine to online edition, Walter received a package to a famous photographer where film negatives are packed inside. The negatives contain a film role where film number 25, which is the supposed last cover of the Life as proposed by Sean O'Connell (played by Sean Penn). However, film number 25 went missing for some reasons. Walter Mitty tried to track down O'Connell's whereabouts in an unexpected and unbelievable journey of his lifetime.

The movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is perhaps one of the most realistic realizations of a person or character in a movie. It's modern take to inspire people to "follow their dreams" and "dreams are meant to become reality" are just two of the lessons that you can get after watching the film, which are believable, spontaneous, and true to its nature.

Like I said in the first paragraph, the movie is so inspiring, I hope people can relate to Walter Mitty after watching the film. On a personal note, this movie is a timely film for me as for I am also seeking that one opportunity that will push me to pursue my dreams... and this is IT!
