Daniel Radcliffe Has "Horns" In New Movie (Trailer and Information)

Daniel Radcliffe's first-ever movie after the Harry Potter series was when he accepted the role of a young attorney who went to a haunted mansion in the horror film, "The Woman in Black." Now, he really has stepped out of that iconic role with a scar on the forehead as he dared once again in a horror/suspense movie with this time, Daniel Radcliffe plays a person who grew a couple of horns.

"Horns" Movie Summary/Synopsis/Plot

Daniel Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, the never-convicted prime suspect in the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend Merrin (played by Juno Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking some time later, Ig awakens one morning to find horns growing from his head and soon realizes that their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and to exact revenge on her killer.

The upcoming horror/suspense movie, "Horns" starring Daniel Radcliffe is said to be Daniel's best performance in his entire career. The movie directed by Alexandre Aja and an adaptation by Keith Bunin from one of Joe Hill’s novels. Local cinema distributors has yet to announce the showing of "Horns" in movie theaters in the Philippines, but it will first scare it way to UK cinemas (and probably in the US) on October 31, 2014. Watch Daniel Radcliffe's "Horns" movie trailers below.

Will There Be An "Aquaman" Movie Coming Soon?

With "Batman vs Superman" movie in the works, moviegoers, fans, and netizens are asking will there be an "Aquaman" movie coming soon? If DC Entertainment are planning to have a "Justice League" movie in the future, then surely, an "Aquaman" movie must be in the works, too?

Well, the fans' speculations of an upcoming "Aquaman" movie must come to an end because Warner Bros. are confirming that they are already hiring not just one but two screenwriters to write two separate scripts of the said movie.

Just recently, the movie production outfit, Warner Bros. hired the talents of "Gangster Squad" writer, Will Beall and "300: Rise of an Empire" writer Kurt Johnstad to write separate scripts for "Aquaman," one of the installments of the multi-movie DC Comics characters' cinematic universe. Maybe they are planning to have a head-to-head cinematic combat against Marvel Entertainment which already introduced some of the characters in the Marvel Universe in the same multi-movie platform schemes.

What really "controversial" about this hiring of two separate writers to write the "Aquaman" movie scripts is that both screenwriters are writing for the same project. It's a battle between the screenwriters on whoever gets the better version of the story wins. This practice is said to allow for release dates to be set while an ongoing project is still in the works. It is speculated that Warner Bros. will have at least nine untitled DC Comics character movies in the coming years. But the movie outfit is not talking or commenting about their upcoming movie projects.

"Fantastic Four" Movie Reboot Confirmed Cast

A few months ago, Marvel Studios announced that the 2005 movie "Fantastic Four" starring Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon, and Kerry Washington will have an ultimate reboot perhaps to include a story arc where the rebooted Amazing Spiderman movie starring Andrew Garfield will finally crossover and join the ultimate four.

The new movie to be released by 20th Century Fox is entitled "The Ultimate Fantastic Four" which is based on a Marvel comics arc of the same title. The reboot update of the movie will focus on the characters as young men and women and not as adults as what were featured in the first two films.

Well... if this is the case, I guess it's really time to get a reboot of the movie since 1) it was already ten years ago since the first "Fantastic Four" movie was shown, 2) Spiderman has also rebooted on the big screen which already have two successful movie releases, this is if Marvel Studios is planning a crossover movie, and 3) Chris Evans who played the Human Torch in the first two "Fantastic Four" movies is already Captain America and is doing well on the big screen.

"The Ultimate Fantastic Four" Confirmed Cast

The rebooted movie "The Ultimate Fantastic Four" will have two "That Awkward Moment" stars, Billy Elliot, and a House of Card star. Below are the confirmed cast of "The Ultimate Fantastic Four" reboot movie.

Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch
Toby Kebbel as Dr. Doom

"Into The Storm" Brings Extreme Weather Conditions Into The Big Screen!

I saw this official movie teaser trailer of the upcoming tornado-disaster movie "Into The Storm," which stars Richard Armitage (Thorin, The Hobbit Trilogy) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), and it only reminded me of the wrath that was "Yolanda (Haiyan)." The plot may have similarities to the 1996 movie of the same genre, "Twister" but I think, this one will bring more disaster... thanks to improved CGIs over the past two decades!

"True Blood" Star Ryan Kwanten in the Romantic Comedy Film "The Right Kind of Wrong"

One of television’s hottest rising talents Ryan Kwanten, who stars alongside Anna Paquin in HBO’s hit series “True Blood” brings his electrifying charisma on the big screen as he stars in one of the most anticipated romantic movies to open in 2014 – “The Right Kind of Wrong.”

Based on the novel by Tim Sandlin, “The Right Kind of Wrong” is a romantic comedy about a failed-writer-turned-dishwasher and fearless dreamer who risks everything to show the girl of his dreams all that is right with the wrong kind of guy.

“The theme of “The Right Kind of Wrong” is that in love, there are no boundaries and there are no obstacles. It’s a fantasy that is fun to subscribe to from time to time and if you do, you’ll root for Leo and feel romantically transported to where you can believe what Leo, our hero, says, which is that nothing is impossible,” said producer Robert Lantos.

Screenwriter Megan Martin was determined that Leo be someone "who refuses to make the subtle adjustments that could help him move forward in life. Leo can be prickly, he can over-react to the conventional. I'm attracted to people like this. They can drive you nuts, they can say the wrong thing, but they make life so interesting." The other quality crucial for Martin was "that Leo not be pretentious. In fact, he's the opposite. Leo does not care about his reputation. He is guided by impulse and gives over to his pursuits wholeheartedly. There is an honesty in Leo we can all aspire to."

To survive, he is a dishwasher in Mount Yalo, an upscale resort town. “He takes dishwashing seriously. He’s a zen dishwasher - when he washes dishes, he’s fully in the moment. People come from other restaurants to watch him wash dishes because he turns it into a performance like Tom Cruise did in Cocktail. He has no embarrassment of any kind,” observed Lantos.

“Leo is bold, he's brash, brazen and brilliant. He's a rolling stone that gathers no moss. He sees the world through boundless eyes, utterly convinced that if he stays true to his convictions, no matter what, he will succeed,” says actor Ryan Kwanten who was plucked out of the Deep South of “True Blood” and transported to the majestic Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada to play this role.

Producer Robert Lantos, also has a certain affinity for the notion of challenging adversity and the theme crops up in many of his films, dating back to his first feature in 1978, “In Praise of Older Women,” which was the quest for a new world and the elusive love of an older woman. “I’m inspired by stories about overcoming the impossible. This may have something to do with my own history or perhaps just my flights of fancy. I don’t set out to make movies on this theme, but somehow it seems that this is what they end up being about.”

In “The Right Kind of Wrong,” a romantic comedy, or perhaps a comedy about the madness of romance, based on a script by Megan Martin adapted from the novel by Tim Sandlin, Lantos was won over by the whimsical audacity of the central character’s refusal to concede to defeat. “Leo doesn't have a chip on his shoulder about the fact that he's washing dishes for a living even though he is a writer. I think if you do believe the impossible exists, then you make your own wishes come true and things become possible.”

Can “The Right Kind of Wrong” make you fall in love? Find out when it opens in theaters from Axinite Digicinema, Inc. on February 6, in movie theaters in the Philippines. Below is the full movie trailer of "The Right Kind of Wrong."

Action Superstar Jackie Chan in "Police Story 2013" Movie Reboot

Millions of Jackie Chan fans worldwide grunted when it was announced that the action maestro is about to retire from action films. But recently, Chan had been doing the rounds promoting his latest action movie, “Police Story 2013” now showing in Philippine cinemas on January 22.

Now, Jackie Chan is once again in full action mode orchestrating his stunts in “Police Story 2013.” Chan began as a stuntman in Chinese action movies and became his country’s action star in the 70s with his action comedy films such as “Snake in the Eagle's Shadow” and “Drunken Master” prior his big Hollywood fame in the 90s.

Jackie Chan faces yet another formidable challenge in his upcoming high-octane action movie “Police Story 2013.” Faced with a group of cold-blooded syndicate where his only daughter is acquainted with, Chan plays Zhong Wen, a dedicated ordinary police officer for over 20 years determined to eradicate evil under his watch.

Known for doing his own (even dangerous) stunts, Chan’s character Zhong finds himself trapped in the machinations of a syndicate revealed to be connected to a ruthless criminal imprisoned by Wen years back and had been exacting revenge since then.

Jing Tian also stars in the movie as Chan’s daughter Miao Miao, a medical student whose fondness to her father had waned over the years. Unknown to her, the friends she made along the way are his father’s perennial enemies for years, worse her boyfriend, who owns a very dubious fashionable club, is closely connected to the man who committed manslaughter whom her father had imprisoned for life.

Waiting to carry out their revenge, Miao Miao’s boyfriend Wu Jiang (played by Liu Ye) sees the hostage scene in his club an opportunity to trade his friend Fu (Zhou Xiao Ou) in prison to be released in exchange of the club patrons’ release. Fu is the man whom Zhong had imprisoned years ago. Zhong in a race against time to save his daughter and the other hostages, is forced to play along with the syndicate’s games until he gets the chance to take them down.

“Police Story 2013” is produced by Jackie Chan and is directed and written by Ding Sheng. The movie’s theme song entitled “Rescue” was performed by Jackie Chan, written and arranged by musician Sun Nan.

Released through Megavision, Inc. here in the Philippines, “Police Story 2013” is now showing in movie theaters, nationwide! I saw the movie last Monday, and here's my review of the film (Police Story 2013 Movie Review). The full movie trailer is also available there.

South Korea's "Don't Cry Mommy" Movie Tackles A Controversial Plot

What will a mother do when she lost a daughter due to injustice system? This is excatly the main plot of South Korea's most recent controversial drama thriller movie, “Don’t Cry Mommy”. A tragic death of her daughter will push a mother’s fury to seek for revenge. Starring Yoo Sun as the mother named Yoo-lim peacefully faces a new life after divorce and is striving to make a living for her daughter, Eun-ah played by Nam Bo-ra (Glory Jane), a teenage girl whose tragic experience with young love triggers her suicide.

"Don't Cry Mommy" Information

Enrolled in a new school after her parents’ divorce, Eun-ah’s first experience in teenage romance turns into a nightmare as she becomes the victim of gang-rape perpetrated by those she knew in school that triggers her to take her own life. Directed by Kim Yong-Han from a screenplay by Lee Sang-Hyeon, the movie is based on various true accounts and tackles unapologetically the hidden problems in the nation. The movie also stars U-Kiss’ pop icon Dong-Ho as Jo-han who preyed on the innocence of Eun-ha along with his friends Pak Joon (Kwan Hyun-Sang) and Min-gu (Lee Sang-Min).

After all efforts failed to jail the minor perpetrators of Eun-ha’s death, Yoo-lim takes matters into her own hands even if it means breaking the law. The movie was scripted with Yoo Sun in mind due to her remarkably strong portrayals in her previous films. “There are so many emotional scenes in the movie and sometimes, I would be filming emotional scenes all day long, until dawn. It was very tiring but I had to keep myself emotionally charged for those scenes,” relates Yoo Sun.

Nam Bo-ra who’s known in Korea for being a ‘proper-mannered’ celebrity shares, “The scenes I had to film after the tragic incident were particularly hard for me, as they required a lot of emotional acting. But I’ve never personally experienced that kind of emotions, so I had to work hard in portraying those scenes.”

“Don’t Cry Mommy” opens on November 13 in local cinemas from Axinite Digicinema, Inc. Below is the official movie trailer of "Don't Cry Mommy".

"Rio 2" (3D) First Look Photos and Movie Trailer Finally Released!

When the 2011 animated film "Rio" ended, the first thing I thought was, "that was it?" the story of the rare blue macaw lovebirds from Brazil, Blu and Jewel had already ended when they defeated the white cockatoo named Nigel? What a cliffhanger, right? How I wished back then that the movie has a sequel. Guess what? Wishes do come true! Hahaha!

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” Movie Is Finally Happening! Yay!

I remember watching the "Uncanny X-Men" cartoon in the 90s and one of the episodes I liked back then was the "Days of the Future Past" series. If I can recall it correctly, the "Days of the Future Past" series is the one where future mutant Bishop traveled back in time during the heydays of the X-Men group to prevent an assassination that led to the production of Sentinels that affected much of the mutants in the future. Bishop, together with the help of X-Men, must find a way to stop the assassin who killed someone from the Washington D.C. (a higher official or so) where the production of Sentinels are believed to may been originated.

"The Book Thief" First Look Photos and International Movie Trailers

Based on the globally acclaimed best-selling book “The Book Thief” by Australian author Markus Zusak, 20th Century Fox’s latest movie of the same title introduces us to a German girl named Liesel Meminger at the heart of the story.

Set during World War II in Germany in January of 1939, Sophie Nélisse takes on the role of 9-year old Liesel – a foster girl living outside of Munich brought to a community where amongst those whom she learned to love, finally discovered her ultimate passion – books.

At a time when uncertainty looms, Liesel is brought to her foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann (played by Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson respectively) while her younger brother Werner dies along the way to the Hubermanns. In the cemetery where her brother is buried, a book entitled “The Grave Digger’s Handbook” found its way to Liesel’s hands, the first of her collections from which she’d eventually become “The Book Thief.”

The powerful material that is “The Book Thief” is transformed into an affirming, life changing movie from the production team that brought “Life of Pi” to the big screen and from Brian Percival, director of several episodes of the high profile series “Downton Abbey.” Percival has found the movie’s heroine upon seeing Nélisse’s audition tape. "It was quite uncanny, this kid. I was taken right away," says Percival. "It was this mixture of naive innocence but at the same time she's actually quite ballsy. You feel that you can get kneed in the groin at any point."

Nélisse who also played a starring role in “Monsieur Lazhar” in 2011 shares that her role in “The Book Thief” was daunting. Narrated by Death, the story’s tough emotional content which Nelisse’s character Liesel comes of age in an intolerant society within a war had Geoffrey Rush raving on Nelisse’s performance. "I've had the opportunity in my career to have played opposite some extraordinary actresses and Sophie is just a true, natural original," says Rush. "She's a gifted performer who has an instinctive and highly creative rapport with the lens.”

Soon to steal our hearts, “The Book Thief” will open February 19, 2014 in cinemas from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. Below are some of the first-look photos and two movie trailers of"The Book Thief."

"The Heat" Stars Breakout Actress Melissa McCarthy

FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) – the Fed – and Boston cop Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) – the Fuzz – couldn't be more incompatible. But when they join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.
At the helm of "The Heat" is Paul Feig, the movie takes a look at the odd couple pairing of two law enforcement officials who, to their everlasting shock, slowly find themselves on the same page. The Ashburn-Mullins dynamic is akin to that eternal physics problem about an irresistible force meeting an immovable object. Only here, it's hard to tell who is which.

Ashburn is ambitious, talented, brainy, and possesses Sherlock Holmes-like powers of deduction and intuition. She's always the smartest person in the room, and isn't shy about letting everyone know it. Mullins grew up on the streets of Boston, and has a shoot-from-the-hip (and mouth) style of dealing with crime and its perpetrators. She's the "yang" to Ashburn's "yin."

To cast Mullins, Feig looked no further than his Bridesmaids breakout star, Melissa McCarthy.  "On Bridesmaids, Melissa became my hero," he says. "So, about 15 pages into reading THE HEAT, the idea of casting her just snapped into my head. The script, which was already hilarious, got ten times funnier when I read it while imagining Melissa as Mullins.  Melissa will commit to a role so hardcore it will shock you," Feig continues. "It's hard to realize that it's Melissa inside that character."

The tightly-wrapped Ashburn isn't Mullins' only headache. She's also dealing with her out-of-control family. After arresting her own brother (played by starring cast member Michael Rapaport) for dealing drugs, Mullins is ostracized by the other members of her clan, including her mom, dad, four brothers, and for good measure, her brothers' girlfriends. Says Feig: "Mullins arrested her brother and threw him in jail, in order to save him – sort of a forced rehab. But to the rest of her family, this is an unforgivable betrayal, and she's a traitor. It's a very tight-knit family, but they have a very interesting way of showing it."

"I've been beating people up for two months; it's very cathartic," joked Melissa McCarthy during the production of THE HEAT. The chemistry between Bullock and McCarthy was evident from the first table read. "When we read the script [together] for the first time, Melissa and I would make the same faces, simultaneously," Bullock recalls. "Our rhythms are different, but we worked so well together, they began to click. We made so many connections; it's something I never thought I would have on this level."

The strength of the Bullock-McCarthy dynamic, evident even then, inspired additional script fine-tuning. "By the end of that first read, it was obvious that Sandy and Melissa really inhabited these characters, and that it was up to Katie Dippold and me to take all that magic and get it into the script – and really let the women fly," says Feig.

For screenwriter Dippold, the process was liberating. "Sandy and Melissa took what was on the page and made it funnier than I thought it could ever be," she says. A particular favorite came during a Mullins' tirade against her captain (played by Tom Wilson) – accusing him of lacking a set of testes – when he refuses her demand to boot Ashburn from the case. "Melissa really ran with the one scripted line, 'Have you seen the captain's balls?' and turned it into something spectacular."

"The Heat" opens June 27 in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

It's a Head-Spinning Heist in "Trance" (Movie)

Academy-Award winner Danny Boyle brings together James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vince Cassel in a stirring ensemble performance in the mind-bending action thriller “Trance.”

Boyle, whose worldwide acclaimed works “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Shallow Grave,” “Trainspotting,” and “127 Hours” that covered themes such as triumph of the human spirit despite abject poverty and reality, brings a new kind of thrill in “Trance.” Boyle crafts a wildly twisted mind puzzle exploring identity, madness, and perception using the altered state of hypnotic trance.

"Trance" Summary/Synopsis/Plot

“Trance” introduces us to Simon (McAvoy), a fine art auctioneer, who teams up with a criminal gang to steal a Goya painting, a work of art worth millions of dollars, but after suffering a blow to the head during the heist he wakes up to discover that he has no memory of where he has hidden the painting. When physical threats and torture fail to produce answers, the gang’s leader Franck (Cassel) hires hypnotherapist Elizabeth Lamb (Dawson) to delve into the darkest recesses of Simon’s psyche. As she digs deeper into his broken subconscious, the stakes become much higher and the boundaries between desire, reality, and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur and disappear.

“After 'Slumdog' producer Christian Colson and I were looking for new work to do together and I told him there were a couple of ideas I’d always been drawn to: the Aron Ralston story - which became “127 Hours” - and this mad thriller called “Trance,” recalls Boyle. “It felt like it would be perfect material for John Hodge.” Boyle worked closely with screenwriter John Hodge -- with whom he collaborated on “Shallow Grave” and then on the acclaimed and shocking black comedy about Scottish junkies, “Trainspotting” -- on a screenplay that melds dangerous seduction and electrifying action in a suspense filled spiral.

In tackling the material, Boyle saw a chance to update classic film noir themes – betrayal, moral uncertainty, sexual tension, and the lurid instincts that seem to lurk beneath every human’s skin into a modern context. He was also excited to bring a fresh take to the iconic femme fatale, with the character of Elizabeth Lamb, the beautiful hypnotherapist who proves to be every bit the equal of the men playing power games around her.

As Boyle and Hodge began writing and updating the classic film noir themes such as betrayal, moral uncertainty, sexual tension, and lurid instincts, they knew this story could not be constructed with a conventional, linear plot-line but demanded a kaleidoscopic structure revolving around McAvoy’s character, Simon. They plunged deep into the disoriented, broken mind of a character who not only cannot remember where he left the stolen Goya... but also has no idea what so urgently impelled him to hide it in the first place. They designed a web-like narrative in which Simon’s hypnosis sessions start to blow apart his very concept of who he is, and how he came to be in this situation.

Hodge continues: “Danny and I wanted to have a kind of constant uncertainty for the characters as to what the truth is. These three characters have to rely almost exclusively on what the others are saying or doing in order to figure out what’s going on. And of course, pretty much everything that the others say or do is either a lie or a manipulation or unreliable in some way. So, the protagonists are trapped in a puzzle of their own making. The challenge for them -- and the fun for the audience – is to try and solve that puzzle.”

Most of all, Boyle and Hodge loved the idea of having three strong characters who at various times might appear to be either very good or very bad “The story’s got three excellent parts in it and they battle for who’s at the center of the film,” comments Danny Boyle. “That triangle is a lovely dynamic to have in place as you can play with the question of which character the story belongs to.”

A Fox Searchlight Pictures and Pathé present, a Cloud Eight / Decibel Films Production, “Trance” also stars Danny Sapani, Matt Cross, and Wahab Sheikh. “Trance” opens on May 1, 2013 from 20th Century Fox. Below is the official international movie trailer of "Trance".

Together, they try to pass an internship interview at Google. Hollywood-based Filipino actor, Tobit Raphael also included in the cast with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.

About "The Internship"

Nick (Owen Wilson) and Billy (Vince Vaughn) are two old-school salesmen already in their 40s whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship program at Google, along with a battalion of brilliant college students. But, gaining entrance to this utopia is only half the battle. Now they must compete with a group of the nation's most elite, tech-savvy geniuses to prove that necessity really is the mother of re-invention.

20th Century Fox brings the latest trailer of "The Internship" tracking the misadventures of Nick (Owen Wilson) and Billy (Vince Vaughn). They eventually team up with a sexually curious nerd, a mobile phone obsessed geek, Yoyo (Tobit Raphael), a genius Asian kid who lacks social and common life skills, and Lyle who is an underdog who wants to fit in. Going through training and competing with kids half their age, they are hell-bent to prove that it's never too late to reinvent yourself. The movie also stars Rose Byrne, John Goodman, Dylan O'Brien, and Josh Gad.
