Cinemalaya Film Festival 2007

The Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc., recently launched its (if I am not mistaken) third year of competition for independent filmmakers through its Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival 2007. This year's competition is composed of 19 new independent films, where nine of them will compete for the full-length feature category and 10 films will compete for the short film category. The festival opened its door last July 20 and will last until July 29, 2007, so hurry up and buy those tickets!

My friends and I are going to watch a full-length film tonight, which is included in competition entitled, "Still Life" by Katski Flores, at around 9:00 PM. This is my first time to attend to an event as big as this, so I'm crossing my fingers that this film is very good. I heard so much praises from this independent filmmaker, Katski Flores, because, my colleague was once a classmate of her during their high school years. Pretty much for a free advertising and promotion, huh? Hehehe. Anyway, let us support these new breeds of filmmakers for their effort on making the film industry alive!

(The complete list of films included in the competition after the click!)
