Complete list Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) Season 2 Scholars!

The much anticipated second season of the most unique music academy in the Philippines, the Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA 2), has opened up once more to give scholarships to the deserving Filipino students with singing talent and to build another set of world class performers through this reality show. With Toni Gonzaga, Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford as your Dream Hosts in primetime, updates and überture, respectively; and Dream Mentors Kitchie Molina, Monet Silvestre, Direk Joey Reyes and Headmaster Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, as your Dream-credible Team, PDA 2 will make your evening viewing habit a sure hit!

Last Saturday, June 14, 2008, PDA 2 have already chosen 15 males and females (combined) scholars to become part of the said reality show. There were originally 16 scholars but the last one backed out in the last minutes. However, the viewers have already chosen their 16th scholar through text voting (SMS). And so, the following are the lucky 16 PDA Scholars (please click on the title to continue reading):

• Hansen Nichols - "The Cancer Survivor". Sen is a 23 years old lad from Taguig City. He is a former contender to the Pinoy Dream Academy season 1 but did not make it to enter in the academy. This school year he managed to pass and trying his luck to become a good student inside the academy.

• Michelle Belmonte - "Stand-Up Comic". Sheng is perhaps considered as a seasoned performer because of her experiences singing in a comedy bar to help her parents sustain their daily needs. Sheng is a 25 years old singer from Quezon City.

• Jay Bogayan - "The Farmer’s Son". Bugoy's musicality is enhanced because of everyday singing while doing chores inside the school canteen. He also likes to sing with the carabaos and grasses while doing his work in the farm field. He only dreams of having a good life away from poverty. Bugoy is a 17 years old son from Camarines Sur.

• Van Louelle Pojas - "The Young Heartthrob". Van is a singer known for his bisrock (Visayan rock) style as influenced by former PDA 1 scholar and 2nd Grand Star Dreamer and friend, Jay-R Siaboc. Van, Jay-R and other former PDA scholar Eman are friends way back in Cebu. Van is a better bisrock singer for me. He 17 years old from Cebu.

• Jun Ross Dio - "The Stylist’s Son". Ross is a singer known to have a full well-developed voice because he sang in a very manly manner. He sings effortlessly. He must have been remembered as the would be scholar that touched the hearts of the dream mentors. Just watch the video call back of Jun Ross below. Jun Ross is 25 years old from Quezon City.

• Cristina Pastor - "The Singing Interior Designer". Cris is born in a wealthy family. But her dream of becoming a singer did not just end there because she has all the things in the world. Despite her rich status, Cris always have a heart to unfortunate ones. She has a nanny that she also considers as a friend. She also eats street foods as a way of bonding to her friends. Cris is a 21 years old interior designer from Parañaque City.

• Miguel Mendoza - "The Romantic Crooner". Miguel is probably one of the familiar faces in this year's season of Pinoy Dream Academy. He was a former contestant to another reality singing competition which was formerly judged by PDA Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab. After two years of not showing himself to the public because of a not very successful musical stint, Miguel returns to PDA with a vengeance! Miguel is 18 years old from Muntinlupa City.

• Beatriz Munoz - "The Sweet Chanteusse". Bea is known as Miguel's girlfriend. They have been together as sweethearts for three years. Bea joined this competition to enhance her musicality and improved her singing voice. She is 17 years old from Muntinlupa City.

• Chivas Anton Mallunda - "The Student Husband". A young father from Tanjay, Negros Oriental, Chivas, 22 years old, is also a student with a dream of being known to his chosen field — singing. He has a very good singing voice and looks like a celebrity already because he has a resemblance to former matinee idol Rustom Padilla in his hay days.

• Maria Liezel Garcia - "Pride of Puerto Galera". Liezel sets no boundaries to her dream of becoming a fulfilled singer. She literally crossed oceans and deserts to become one of the scholars of PDA. After her graduation from college, she flew to Dubai to work in a hotel, to find herself and earn some money for her family. But the scorching heat of Dubai did not stop her in pursuing her dream to become a singer. Liezel is 22 years old from Dubai.

• Christian Alvear - "Small Boy Wonder". As they say, big things come from small packages, Christian, 25 years old from Taguig City, is not Greek to that. He was born with a hormonal growth deficiency keeping his body in petite form. His favorite singer is the little kid Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5. According to him, his parents are already separated, and his father blames him for asking for his father's signature to sign the annulment paper.

• Apple Abarquez - "Different Couple’s Daughter". Apple is a girl who has a dysfunctional family. She claims that she has a mother for a father, a mother for a mother and a father for a mother. She also has a set of fairy gay mothers. She consider herself lucky even though she was adopted by her parents because of the people around her who love her so much. Apple is 18 years old from Cebu.

• Rafael Ignacio Ting - "The Stage Performer". Iñaki is a former stage singer actor known for his performance in "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: The Musical on Stage". As early as this round of the competition, a lot of people are not impressed with the so-called "originality" of Iñaki. Just watch the video below for Iñaki's version of the song "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts as compared to Jason Mraz' version. Iñaki is 18 years old from Pasig.



• Jovannie Mallunda - "The Teacher Wife". Bunny is the wife of PDA co-scholar Chivas. She and Chivas are parents to their daughter who is now three years old. She married to her husband at an early age and faced the responsibilities of being a parent. Bunny is a teacher back in Negros Occidental. She is 22 years old.

• Laarni Losala - "The Independent Woman". Laarni is a hardworking woman with an ambition of being a singer. She is 22 years old from Sultan Kudarat. I don't really remember her that much only that she went to Manila to work and study to keep themselves from poverty.

• Ranjit Singh - "The Videojock". Jet at the age of 24, is a "suki" or a fan of other reality TV show. He had joined several reality show auditions and castings until finally he was the last scholar to enter the Pinoy Dream Academy. He was chosen among the four waiting list of scholars. Jet is from Binangonan, Rizal.
